Some of the most engaging and fun racing I’ve ever seen in NASCAR was on 2 mile unrestricted ovals, such as Michigan, and the road courses. Becuase the cars would squrim and wiggle and be actual work to control. I love Watkins Glen, Sonoma, and I guess I love the Roval at Charlotte. Compared to the number of oval races, cookie-cutter tracks, restrictors on 1.5 mile tri-ovals, just makes me bored. The second visit to Daytona in the year should be to the road course. They should visit Indy a second time and run the road course. They need these cars badly at Road America in Wisconsin, Road atlanta, a second visit to Watkins Glenn using the whole and full course. COTA in Austin, holy crap, would be great especially on the long drag race straight.
They are great oval cars. There is great racing on oval tracks. These cars could provide so much more action on roadie races and give us a more complete driver. Thats my thinking.

That kind of racing does exist at lower levels. It happens on Friday and Saturday nights at the local dirt oval.

The Trucks are M osport/CTMP is fun to watch. Since it’s such a fast track, they really move lots in fast corners with the minimal down force .

Road courses are awesome
but I would also hope that the cars would still look as cool as that Grand Prix did. T
hey have
been
looking very
silly since those days.

Best NASCAR race I’ve been to was the first Roval race. I’d like to see them go to VIR, but there’s not enough infrastructure.

Right color, wrong spot. More road courses are not needed, the off-throttle time inherent to road racing is what’s needed. Take downforce away from current cars and up the power so the drivers are sliding around and not able to ride around full-throttle, that’s what is needed.

They tested daytona a couple years back without restriction, I think it was just Busch? Anyway lapped at 220 and needed the whole track width to make the corners. Racing like that would not have been safe was the conclusion.
I agree with no downforce cars and nice power.
